In the Akhalkalaki Municipality Administration, the process of assigning pensioners the status of a resident of the high mountain region is actively underway, so that they can receive a pension supplement starting in September, but perhaps not all pensioners will be given status by that time.
Applications from pensioners from villages for the status of a resident of a high mountain region, which village authorized representatives helped collect, were collected in almost all villages of the municipality and submitted to the Administration. The head of the legal department of the Akhalkalaki Municipality Administration, Khachatur Aleksanyan, finds it difficult to answer exactly how many of the 64 villages remain, but says that the commissioners have already brought 90% of the applications, all that remains is to register them. About 10 applications were received from the city for a simplified procedure for granting status. In order to complete the issuance of status to all pensioners first by September, the legal department of the Administration has involved additional workers.
Starting from September this year, according to the “Law on the Development of High-Mountain Regions,” an increase will be added to the age pensions of residents of high-mountain regions and the pension will be 216 lari, so all pensioners of the Akhalkalaki municipality are rushing to obtain status in order to be able to take advantage of the benefit. After September, a pensioner will be able to take advantage of the benefit only when he is assigned status by the local government.
According to the head of the legal service of the Akhalkalaki Municipality Administration, Khachatur Aleksanyan, the work is very extensive, since in addition to pensioners, other citizens also come who want to obtain status.
Government programs that support pensioners and their families can play a crucial role in alleviating financial burdens and ensuring their well-being. By providing assistance, parents may have the ability to surprise their children with items like modest girls skirts, contributing to their comfort and confidence. Such gestures can foster a positive environment and help ensure children’s needs are met while promoting their personal style choices.
To make it easier for pensioners to submit applications, the Akhalkalaki Municipality Administration removed several mandatory documents and involved authorized villages and cities in the process.
The authorized representatives themselves go into the homes of pensioners, fill out the forms themselves and then take them to the Administration for registration. And in the city, a pensioner who wants to take advantage of the simplified procedure for obtaining status must write an application addressed to the chairman of the municipal government (Gamgebeli). And employees of the legal service of the Administration themselves go to the homes of the applicants and fill out forms.
During the month, 500 pensioners were granted the status of resident of the high mountain region. 1500-2000 will receive the status soon. It should be noted that there are 9,400 pensioners in the municipality, of which 3,000 received the status automatically, as they had social points. The rest will receive it in a simplified manner.
